Pros

I have worked for enough places to know that trust and calm under stress are most most valuable to my work. I feel appreciated and respected at Unboxed. Calm, positive people are priceless.

Cons

Deadlines can be quick but adjusting workflow and always being busy are balanced with appreciation and impressive quality.

Pros

Unboxed has the best office environment I've ever experienced. All of my coworkers are smart and fun - I thoroughly enjoy interacting with them on a daily basis. My direct manager is the best manager I've ever had, and he genuinely cares about me and wants me to succeed. The work-life balance is optimal, and the schedule is pretty flexible if you need to work from home, take some time to go to an appointment, etc. The leave policy is also super generous - you get six weeks of paid leave time per year, plus some holidays. The office manager, Bette, puts a lot of time and effort into making sure the office amenities are top-notch, and plans really great off-site events throughout the year.

Cons

Unboxed is still a small company, and as such the resourcing can be stretched pretty thin sometimes. In some ways this is a pro, since it gives you more autonomy and flexibility than you would have at a larger company. However, it can also be stressful and frustrating. There aren't clear development paths so it's difficult to find opportunities for learning and growth within your current position that will allow you to advance in your career.

Pros

Work culture is great. Unboxed has done a great job of assembling a team of really fun and also really committed, hardworking people. You don't really deal with internal conflicts. It's easy to build healthy, supporting co-worker relationships here, even amongst people who work in different parts of the business. Being that Unboxed is a small-ish company, as an individual, you still feel like your contribution matters and has a noticeable impact for the company as a whole and for the client you are working with. Your opinion matters. Professional development is highly encouraged and supported. Unboxed has a great PTO policy and encourages us to use it. Your manager will harp on you for NOT taking more time off if they see you have too many unused days. Because the dev team is relatively small, each one wears a lot of different hats, which gives you opportunity to learn and grow a lot more. One week you might focusing on dev ops, the next week front end, the next week back end. It's a nice variety and keeps things interested and also challenges you to continue to sharpen all of your skills.

Cons

Sometimes the work load is pretty heavy. Those seasons come and go. Sometimes we work really fast and when working with really larger clients who move at a slower, more conservative pace, managing the mis-match in pace can be difficult. We could automate a lot more of our work on the technology team, but we are working in that direction.
