Pros

Most of the schools treat their subs very well, including PTO/PTA members. Administrators at some schools know most student names and work with the teachers instead of only working for the parents. Some administrators will even check in with subs to make sure the sub knows there is support in the building that cares and is aware that a teacher is gone.

Cons

Some administrators work more for the parents or to build their resume. Talk to teachers at the school you apply to.

It's a family friendly work place. The hours are good and don't require extra time. The county is fairly well organized.

Cons

Low salaries. Pressure to teach to state tests. Lack of supplies. No professional development. The county recently went through a redistricting.
