The county has many helpful and caring employees.

Cons

Special area teachers are often omitted from planning meetings where expectations are delivered, and the teacher has to seek out the information individually in order to perform the job at the level expected.

Review of Employment at Union County Public Schools in Monroe NC

I had the opportunity to improve the IT infrastructure without a lot of oversight. It paved the way for the district becoming one of the best in the state. Good benefits and retirement plan. No excessive overtime.

Cons

Once the bulk of the rebuilding was over management became very petty. Without IT outages to worry about management focused on petty politics making the work environment toxic. Pay increases were no existent due to the "every person gets the same raise policy" that is standard fare for government employees. The financial structure is very restrictive with too much being spent in one area and not enough in others.
