Pros

decent pay, crew members are dedicated and hard working.

Cons

no time off for a road crew. on call 24/7, almost totally unpredictable work schedule. So if you get sick, don't expect to know when you can go to the doctor. attendance policy is a throwback to the dark ages.

Pros

Good benefits ok pay but not what I expected

Cons

Horrible union/mgt/co-workers. Union heads are sucking the dues out of them and they take advantage of members constantly laying off and depleting resources. Mgt is constantly looking for a reason to write them up even for things that don't need to be that extreme. It creates a negative work environment.

Pros

Review network operations look at overall system of operations and promote safe effective movement of trains and engines via Union Pacific Lines.

Cons

Not very visible position, hard to promote out of as it does not give you direct involvement over a region so supervisor skills are not needed as you are more of an advisor roll to different regions.
