Pros

Great salary, benefits, work environment, and great opportunity for career advancement right away. All the managers are friendly and easy to talk to.

Cons

In the beginning be prepared to give up a lot of your personal life. This is not your typical Mon thru Friday job. You give up a lot of personal time but they make up for it in your compensation. It'll be a while before you're able to get a set schedule and even then that schedule could mean still working some afternoon shifts and some overnight shifts.

Pros

Health benefits, that is all. Depending on the day of the week either stuck with a moron for a supervisor, or a decent supervisor who actually can think, and knows the job position.

Cons

Remote management of operating point is horrible. Supervisors are a joke, some cannot read, some just have a lack of intellectual useage and no common sense. Typical UP propganda, management does not know what it is doing. Mechanical operations only knows how to "wing it." Not solve anything, measure, or accurately accumulate any real secondary data to make needed changes. Guessing and then trying another non planned move just does not cut it.

Pros

An easy job - not much was expected to be considered successful Lots of time to read and reflect - only actually worked about 25% of the time

Cons

Upper management is not in touch and not sincere about improvement More concerned about how people feel than achieving results - and people feel like maintaining the status quo Extremely poor vacation and no sick leave Union membership just cost money but added no benefit
