Pros

Great benefits. Very adverse environment. Great pay. Challenging always changing with technology

Cons

Company has gone away from tradition of railroading. Corporate head quarters tends to run the railroad in front of a screen relying on numbers that are often tweaked due to the competitiveness between regions and the individual service units within those regions. In other words too many data driven and bean counters who lacks the rue railroad experience making decisions that they forget those that have had the experience and the culture coming form the ranks.

Pros

* Excellent career advancement opportunities - you can go from one department to another to gain experience and knowledge. * Top of the line retirement benefits - 401(k) with company match, pension, and Railroad Retirement instead of SSI. * Outstanding headquarters building - great cafeteria, HUGE workout facility, a health clinic, pharmacy, covered parking, bank and daycare - all onsite!

Cons

* Tough to get your foot in the door - there's lot of competition for every job.
