Pros
It is truly a real systems engineering job. You constantly do something different everyday. You engineer real mission critical systems on a daily basis. Very lenient with schedules. You can come in and leave whenever you want but it is expected you spend 8 hours at the office. But if something comes up, nobody stresses about it and you don't need to use vacation days if you need to leave early for appointments, etc. Great environment to work in.
Cons
Pay is low for a Systems Engineer. Promotions are around a 2-3% pay increase, not much at all. The vision of the company with all the new emerging technologies seems pretty lost and I can't see the future viability of the company even though it has been around forever.
