Pros

The job was the best one could have, at least as far as the work goes. Some long days, some incredibly short, if you are good and get your work done at a good pace.

Cons

It is run by bean counters. The numbers don't always tell the story and that is why Unisys is circling the drain: no visionaries, no imagination. When I started there, seven years ago, the stock was trading at ~$34. It's around 57 cents today. I look to the doors closing in 2009.

Pros

At HQ: Very flexible work environment - most people seem to work at home at some point, as-needed, at their own discretion.

Cons

At HQ: This is an old company, with a hang-dog attitude (again, just at corporate hq). Morale is low, and appears to have been buried at that level for a while. This is supposed to be a services-based company, but I came from a services company, and comparatively, Unisys is still grounded in a technical, engineering- and process-based "manufacturing"-style mentality. That can be a great approach for achieving solid, bulletproof "things" and results, but the downside is a complete lack of creativity, speed and flexibility.

Pros

Work with many partners to learn thier technology in support of thier clients which in turn broadens my personal knowlege base of various technologies. Pay seems to be equitable for work asked to be perfomed and there is always a good deal of OT that actually needs to be worked. Never bored as always going from one technology to another and from one partner's clients to another throughout the day. Required training is often a plane flight away and in nice facilities. The Company has no problem sending you to get the required training to do your job.

Cons

has been extreme minimal salary increase in last several years as company is re-establishing itself and strengthening its image in the market.
