Freedom... not having a boss down your back .....mostly.

Cons

Management has the tendency to sound demeaning when talking to you. It's like they think you are stupid. Instead of having assertive speak, its aggressive. The words come off as if you are being verbally attacked. Asking for help may leave you with a response you already knew. The most stressful part of job is dealing with management. Who will be vindictive if you try to speak up for yourself.

Pay well, a lot of marketing money, a lot of fully remote positions.

Cons

No one knows what they're doing, leadership lacks innovation, project and program managers are unprofessional and unexperienced, the company runs on matrixed structure so no one is really incentivized to do their job.

Good salary. Remote. With years of network neglect, lots to get straightened out (busy is good).

Cons

Management and team dynamics lead to working on an island. Hard to get information.... left to figure everything out on your own. Literally one word answers like 'yes' or 'no' to emails asking about network topology was a first in my career.
