Pros

There are very smart, hardworking people at UBC. They care very much about the science, their clients and the company. UBC is working very hard to make the working environment a balanced and rewarding place. The organization's new CEO is Robert Epstein - an MD, who is also a very visionary leader excited to make UBC a great place.

Cons

The company is undergoing a lot of changes on every level - from leadership, to benefits, to job design to compensation. We need employees who can be flexible and are willing to help push the organization forward.

Pros

-Friendly people -Good PTO -Good Benefits - Casual - Plans social events in and outside of work - Laid back - Room for growth

Cons

-Inconsistency of promotions - Some people never get promoted or hired on, while others seem to move up the ranks and not consistently. The people who are promoted may not be the most deserving, but some how they get promoted while others who work equally, if not much, much more, do not get promoted due to "team need." -The inconsistency of the positions between teams. To be a specific level on one team does not mean you will be doing to same work or even be held to the same standard as other employees at the same level. If an employee is working at a much high level then their colleague who has a higher position, the lower position colleague should be promoted. OR keep the career levels the same and consistent. A Project Specialist's (Or Assistant or Manager) work ability should be the same as any other PS on a different team. - How unnecessary most of the cons written on this website are. They can be changed.

Pros

Fair benefits package, some great people to work with at specific office level and not much else really, which is unfortunate

Cons

Salary much lower than average for similar/same positions, managers unable to communicate (secretive), internal communications censored, staff not rewarded according to performance, upper management controlling, responsibility allocated without authority to make decisions, top management involved in all decisions, including minor, irrelevant issues, different rules for different staff
