There is strong support for continuing education opportunities including requiring churches to budget for pastor continuing education. Family health insurance. Good EAP support. Mid level management generally concerned with pastoral and pastoral family health. The work is important.

Cons

Salaries are generally low. Frequent moves are difficult on families, in some cases families have chosen to live separately due to spouse career or to provide school stability for children. Pastor's often isolated geographically and socially. Poor communication between management and during transitions. Some leadership and churches engage in bullying behavior.

I have made some life long friends working here. Most of the benefits like time off and hoidays are great.

Cons

Lack of communication. No room for advancement. Promotions for people who don't do their jobs. Open door policy is not enforced.
