Pros

Medical coverage is good, Sick time is average. Paycheck hasn't bounced, yet.

Cons

Dental and Vision plans are a joke, I was told by benefits that I live "Out of Network" and such have no coverage, but they enjoy charging me for it anyhow. If you are a driver, there is no chance for advancement without taking a PAY CUT to go into inside sales. Branch management is largely incompetent and richly awarded for it. Was told by Branch management as well as my former Dispatcher that there were not going to be raises again this year due to budget cuts, but they may be available in June or July of 2011. I just received a letter from Corporate that Merritt Raises HAD been re-instated already. If you like being told to violate HOS, Lied to about raises, and poor maintenance practices, go ahead and apply.

Pros

United Rentals has great leadership and a clear strategy, which makes it an exciting place to work. The culture is very collaborative—we truly operate as one team, pushing to be the best while supporting each other along the way. There’s also some genuinely impressive technology here, especially tools like Total Control and the mobile app. I’ve found there are lots of opportunities to be yourself, learn, and grow your career.

Cons

Because the organization is so large and active, there’s a lot going on at any given time, which can sometimes make it hard to keep track of everything—but it also means there’s never a shortage of interesting work.
