Pros

Salaries are good overall. Great benefits.

Cons

Older employees tend to be first to go during a head count issue, business downturn, etc. Company is very youth minded, focusing on the future of the company. When you cross into your 50's, watch out. You no longer represent the future for the company, and you are at a greater risk to be moved out as soon as a reason can be found other than discrimination. Older applicants with years of experience always lose out to younger college grads with no experience in the business. Very costly.

Pros

United offers a singular opportunity for someone who doesn't need their hand held to learn a lot about business. They are well managed from a strategic level. As with most firms that are not in the top "50 greatest places to work", you will witness the good, the bad, and the ugly. More good than bad and most of us are ugly. Take the plunge. Great company to learn the ropes!

Cons

Each region and district are ran independant. They have their own goals and strategies. Do your research and make sure you understand the type of managers you will be working for.
