Pros

you get a pay check. yay.

Cons

The management is horribleeeee . They don’t even know their job to even help if you have questions. So far on my team 5 people have left and I’m a couple months in. HA. They each left because the job is stressful and the supervisor doesn’t know when she’s doing. They micromange everything like your a child, they just send emails saying what your doing wrong alllll the time, favortism exsist, if you need help with something... good luck, they train you on a different systems every month with no more pay, and they expect for you to take calls back to back with about only SIX seconds to even breathe or take a sip of water. its just horrible. I don’t recommend this company AT ALL. they honestly need to be shut down. Even the providers and members who call in says the company sucks.

Pros

Amazing supervisors and co-workers, decent benefits and opportunities for horizontal movement around the company, unfortunately supervisors are also pressured to literally disregard employee mental/physical health.

Cons

Over worked and under paid. Management is terrible to the employees in that they expect them to live and breathe UHG. Employees are expected to not have a life, family, or social life outside of work. Mental and physical health of employees is literally disregarded. They don't care about the employee.

Thank you for your perspective. I'm sorry you felt there was an issue with management and work/life flexibility during your time at UnitedHealth Group. When these types of issues arise, we strongly encourage employees to have a conversation about work/life flexibility as well as expectations with their manager to try and proactively address this issue, as it is not sustainable or even scalable as our organization continues to grow. We offer tools internally to help you have those types of conversations. I would suggest expressing your concerns with HRDirect so they can properly handle the situation. You can reach them here: 1-800-561-0861. Sincerely, Megan M., Talent Community Manager, UnitedHealth Group

Pros

You are not speaking to any customers over the phone and it is good experience to get your feet wet in the healthcare field

Cons

PAY IS HORRIBLE FOR THE AMOUNT OF WORK THAT IS GIVEN upper management sucks..they're ghetto and power struck. They abuse their power because they can and they have horrible attitudes, constant, constant, constant CHANGE and if you can't keep up you will be written up. The work load is so heavy with little to no overtime offered. No work/life balance whatsoever!!
