Pros

Energetic company with a diverse staff. Although the company does not offer the same benefits package that it once did, they still provide their employees with above average benefits. It may go in the wrong (stale) direction when it comes to project promotions, but it still promotes individual creativity. The leaders may not adhere to great ideas but atleast they allow everyone to express their ideas.

Cons

Senior management is often stale and promote their friends. There are a few senior executives who are great at their job. The language used would be considered deplorable at any other company, but is not unusual for a record label. Although the staff is divided, the urban and pop staff members are divided down race lines.

Pros

Entertainment is the place to be if you leave in LA

Cons

Currently, it is going through outsourcing process. Soon, all IT will be done either by HP or Accenture or anybody else but not UMG employee.

Pros

Very good way to get a deep picture of the music business. You truly get out what you put into it... you can learn the industry inside-out if you pay enough attention. Great way to make contacts for a full time job with the company. If you don't already work in music, an internship is probably the only way.

Cons

No pay. You're responsibilities completely depend on who your supervisor is... so take initiative.
