Pros

Access to musicians/artists Working on exciting and mass market releases Better budgets and profile than indie sector Investing in innovative promotions Freebies like concert tickets, CDs Although corporate the culture is progressive and fairly relaxed Decent work/life balance Lots of people for opportunities/networking Good infrastructure to let you get on with the work compared to indie/small business sector Opportunties to move between its different labels

Cons

Most of their releases are flawed/too commercial/naff My experience with HR and communications there weren't great Lot of people aren't not passionate about music like in the indie sector Salaries in this sector are bad compared to other media industries Too much focus on the 'product' not the artist or what audiences want. Don't think there are good long term prospects for this type of corporate music company.
