      Pros

      Wide range of exposure to different settings in the med-surg area. Great team work between float team employees working on the same floor.

      Cons

      Some ACU floors would give 4-5 higher acuity patients to the float pool nurse. No sense of diving acuity between nursing staff. Most floors would just give patients to RNs based on room assignments rather than acuity. Some ACU floor managers would treat float pool staff different than the units core staff.
