Good people, but compensation is just okay and it can be very bureaucratic.

Pros

A lot of nice people. Good work environment. They have some nice perks like covering $800 annually for continuing education.

Cons

Salary is a little low for some positions. For example, social workers are paid $20k less than case managers for the same work and the VA (right across the street) pays social workers the same as case managers at UH. A lot of SWs have left. It also operates a lot like a corporation. Definitely layers of bureaucracy and can be hard to get things done sometimes as a result.
