      Pros

      At a higher level communication seems to be strong, and all employees included. The Institution continues to grow and there is innovation happening daily.

      Cons

      Salary stagnation, in non-leadership positions. Parking costs and availability. Communication not as strong at lower levels. General lack of understanding or interest in the value of investing in employees.

      Poor Leadership at the College of Nursing

      Pros

      Great benefits, New York State Retirement System, UUP Union for faculty and professionals, and decent pay for the area which has a very reasonable cost of living..

      Cons

      Under the current leadership at the College of Nursing, the deparment has the most hostile working environment I have ever encountered. The dean and associate dean are both insulting, belittling monsters that seem to delight in reducing both faculty and staff to tears for absolutely no good reason at all. The dean has placed some kind of untruthful, trumped up disciplinary warning in nearly everyone's personnel file and in the last 15 months, 10 people have left - 5 faculty (including tenured faculty) and 5 staff. This mass exodus alone from such a small department should say it all.

      Pros

      The job is fairly stable.

      Cons

      It's difficult because there are three different kinds of employees with different benefits and rules. State, research foundation and medbest. Medbest is the worst for time off and health coverage.
