No Room For Growth

Pros

Some of the strongest marketing efforts are grassroots and traditional mediums, like radio. It's a great place to understand the foundation of marketing and build relationships.

Cons

There's absolutely no room for growth and part of its not their fault, it's just a dying industry in general. Management clearly has their favorite employees and allow those employees much more leniency than others. There were several instances employees should have been fired and received a slap on the wrist instead.

Pros

Flexible and decent commission structure

Cons

Pressured sales and micro-management can sometimes push salespeople to make rushed decisions for their clients.

PROGRAMMING DEPARTMENT

Pros

The market is in Detroit. Top 10 market, good exposure.

Cons

Management is not effective. Radio One Detroit is a 3-station cluster that needs a Program Director that can effectively manage them and all the departments together that come with them simultaneously. There is a disconnect in communication between departments. No one knows what the other is doing.
