Pros

The benefits at UTA are pretty good, especially the pension - but beware the salary will likely be lower than the private sector so if you are disciplined and invest money, you may not end up ahead.

Cons

It’s insanely bureaucratic. Manager are managers and not leaders. More than likely you’ll work under a career UTA employee that is in it for themselves. Lip service, lack of leadership, morale isn’t great, and much of the talent is sub-par because the high performing employees follow the money to the Utah County Tech Companies. Also, the building is filthy, cockroaches, earth quake damage. If you need a pension and decent health insurance join us, if you want leadership, cutting edge technology and better pay look somewhere else.
