Pros

Generally, your coworkers are nice and... wait i think that was literally the only enjoyable thing about working here and every other aspect sucked so much it didn't even matter that I loved (some) of my coworkers

Cons

I can't even think of where to begin. The company has absolutely no interest in keeping employees, it seems. And there's very little reason to stay, which is why an astounding number of employees usually quit before they've even worked for 3 months. You're evaluated every 3 months on your performance (if you even make it that far without quitting, which is a feat in itself ), but these evaluations serve absolutely no purpose but to waste you and your manager's time, because there are no consequences for poor performance and no rewards for good reports. You will never, ever get a raise, no matter how hard you work. the assistant manager who had been working longer (and harder) than almost anyone in our department was making .50 cents more than me hourly. FIFTY. CENTS. is that how you're supposed to treat a loyal employee? The full-time employment health benefits are nice...that is, if you're lucky enough to get the amount of hours required. See, uwajimaya likes to cheat its employees on hours, giving them barely the amount under full-time so that they don't have to give these employees any sort of benefits. You might say, well every manager at uwajimaya isn't doing this, right? Not giving raises to ANYONE and completely ignoring schedule hours requests? You would be wrong, because this is a store wide problem in every store (at least in Washington, I can't speak for the beaverton location). However, it's not the managers' faults, which brings me to the main problem with this company: its corporate/HR division. The HR department is full of people who frankly have never worked in a retail setting, let alone know how to manage a store. Yet they completely restrict and micro manage the power and control of all the retail locations' managers. The managers can't do anything about increasing hours or increasing wages or else they'd be fired. To add insult to injury, the HR employees sometimes visit the store to flaunt how much better they are than you, and scold you for not working while you're clearly on your lunch break..illegal by the way. In other words, don't work here.

Pros

Honestly can not think of any pros

Cons

-Favored certain employees -Do not expect to get a raise -Poor management EXAMPLE: My own experience with the company -- a grandparent was reaching his final days and could pass any day. I had called out explaining what is going on. The operations manager asked the LOD to call me to tell me that i need to go into work still even if I was going to be late. NO COMPASSION!!!
