Pros

I work with some of the brightest and most passionate people< who just want to help our pets and families. You have the freedom to have an opinion / idea and feel like you are being heard. It's not like every other job out there; one person can make a difference here and if you want to be a part of the change I recommend starting / moving your career to VCA. You will get so much experience in a plethora of areas and if in hospital doesn't work out for your family, they do offer remote positions. Now you won't be able to be with animals all day, but you will be able to hep contribute to their care in so many other ways. The benefits are some of the best I have seen out there from personal insurance, mental health help and pet care discounts.

Cons

The pet health field is not for everyone. If I were to mention a con it would be that your work is important and there are so many things to do and keep up with to ensure proper care not only for our pets but for our clients too. You need to be able to think quick on your feet in most roles and be able to multi-task as a top skill.
