Pros

Decent benefits and peers are generally nice. Leftover lunches for staff.

Cons

Understaffed, growing too quickly. Executives have been there forever (30 + years) and have never worked at any other company so they can't see the grass on the other side. Promotions based on longevity, not because of relevant experience. Average salaries average, nothing great. High billability - but you won't be told this until your feet are in the door.

Experience, but at a cost

Pros

Employees will generally get good experience working on high-profile projects.

Cons

"Work efficiently" is a commonly heard phrase meaning unpaid overtime. Not having enough hours in a day to get the work done is your problem. Conversely, if you're in-between projects and are having trouble billing all your hours, that's also your problem. It's a too-much/not enough dilemma. And not having enough hours can easily send you packing. Also, for all it's talk of VHB community, the company has turned very corporate and is turning employees into widgets within a billing machine.

Pros

Flexible hours and fair compensation along with interesting projects and casual work environment. Good community involvement for charities. Many competent workers.

Cons

Sneaky upper management tactics; Sweatshop mentality by hiring young, recent grads and pushing them to work uncompensated to keep projects on budget; Older, senior and more expensive workers pushed out the door for young, cheap talent; Active age discrimination seems to be their dirty little secret; Location in Watertown is awful; Management will do anything to stay profitable at the expense of their workers. Program for promotion to associate creates bitter divide between stock owners and workers.
