Pros

Good Benifits. 401 k Match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan are good Unlimited vacations ( as long as your manager approves!) Decent health plan

Cons

As in most jobs, your life is in your manager's hands. Some of them are highly unprofessional, there are no boundaries. You may get called for work on weekends, long weekends or late weeknights. Dont go by what CEO says about worklife balance. That is in your Mangers hands. What work you do or how hard you work does not matter, make sure your management cares about it. They have training budget per employee but when asked if I could get approval for courses at one of the UCs, I was flat out declined. Even for VMware internal training, I was declined

Pros

Love VMware. This is a place you are proud to call a home away from home and I talk about VMware with my family and friends with pride. Work / life balance is great (see my advice to management) and the majority of roles have the option to work from home either part or full time. A typical day on the Palo Alto campus goes a bit like this. Arrive in the morning to see a friend and colleague heading to the office with her dog. Get kisses from the dog (not the friend!) Go to the cafe at Hilltop and get breakfast and coffee while checking emails. Head to first meeting of the day and laugh out loud with the team about how WebEx sucks and we all love Zoom. After my meetings I say hello to Rosie (she's a turtle) on the way to the small Cafe at Hilltop and buy an ice-cream. Then I spend the day working alongside some of the industries top talent.

Cons

Just too many products that put a strain on the field teams. Have lost some incredibly skilled individuals by putting them under too many layers of management.
