Great culture, but overall as a company, not so great...
Pros
- benefits - culture (EPIC2) - company events (beer bashes, guest speakers, guest artists, off the grid, etc.) - gorgeous campus - great and intelligent people - disruptive technology
Cons
In terms of the company, there is NO professional development and growth what so ever. It is promoted, but never actioned. From my experience, I have applied for several internal positions, but was treated like an external individual trying to get into the company. No common courtesy for internal employees with the exception of one time. If VMware does not act quickly, employee retention will be very minimal. There is already high turnover in my department because of this. As for my department, it is not aligned with VMware's EPIC2 values. No transparency, no work/life balance, no integrity, no sense of community, no trust and no flexibility. For the amount of stress and long hours that came with the role, the pay should compensate for that. The commute is tough so I wish there were more opportunities to work remote than once a month.
