No company is without faults; however, I calculate the pros and cons and conclude that VMware is a fantastic company. Sure one could nitpick. Not a con but does add to work stress - Since VMware's inspection, they have been paving the way forward by creating new paths and leading the industry and our customers to new heights. Today, VMware continues to push and challenge the status quo through further developments and acquisitions. Sometimes it feels like you are changing a flat tire at 200 mph.

Lots of re-orgs and restructurings across the board. Annual RIFs for better alignment of resources. If you are one of the highest paid in the group, look out b/c there is a good chance you will get the ax. If you want to move internally from one group to another it is really difficult even if the titles align. Recruiters are somewhat unresponsive and seemingly over-worked but far worse are the hiring managers who prefer outside skills and frown upon existing VMware experience.
