      The best part of working at VMware is the people. I truly have great coworkers. The work is really pretty interesting, and I have a pretty good amount of flexibility in doing the work that I want to do. The benefits are pretty good, too.

      Cons

      No one in this department really gets promoted. When they do, they don't get raises. Only an annual salary review, and right now, our whole department is well underpaid against market salary. i recently got my annual raise - about $1,300, roughly 3%. Before that, i signed up for a parking program that has me park across the street because we don't have enough parking - I get $50/paycheck for that. That's $1,200/year. Sounds great, except that my company just told me that my parking across the street is worth about the same as the improvement I've shown since the beginning of employment (10 months).
