      Quite open, we use lot of open source projects in our work, you have the chance to learn the most recent idea from the community like docker, kubernates. VMware is no longer a small company, however, its culture still likes a startup, everybody is smart and react to the changes quickly, new ideas came out everyday. VMware had an event called RADIO, basically it's a party for engineers. VMware treat engineers pretty well, we also have very good perks. Work life balance, I think VMware had done a good job.

      Cons

      Politics exists, it's frustrated to see people push the ball to each other. Manager is not very fair, maybe I'm unlucky. My project is not well designed but I do agree that engineer have the right to speak out, but it's up to boss to make the decision, although the decision sucks. Fire people ruthless, 3 people were fired from out team in one year because manager think they are not qualified.
