Pros

-Large company with benefits. -Some commitment to the local community. -Quality Manufacturing.

Cons

VSP has a solid reputation among the Physician community, but the organization uses antiquated, manual process to solve many complex problems in its finance department. -The PAT (profitability analytics) Costing Group is highly dysfunctional and poorly managed. Very Toxic group within a disorganized, poorly led finance org. -Silo Workplace Mentality is rampant throughout finance, esp in PAT. -Very little Collaboration, in fact, it is discouraged in PAT. -Bullying Behaviors and Tyrannical Managers allowed. -Poor Communication. -Bad Attitudes throughout. -Ineffective Leadership. -Company Benefits are dwindling. -C-Suite fails to communicate with truthfulness re recent/current layoffs and benefit reductions.

Pros

PTO and sick pay benefits

Cons

Management is horrible! They care less and less about the culture and feedback from their employees. They're changing and pushing out previous employees that made VSP a staple in the industry. Hiring leadership outside the industry that don't understand how the optical industry actually works. Constantly changing pay compensation to match a renewable energy sales force. Top reps leaving the company and they keep blaming outside influences on why they can't keep top talent. Management just spins anything bad to the CEO so it's not their fault. Rewarding mediocre sales staff. They don't want innovation or feedback and have now dipped into the world of Private Equity.

Pros

Work life balance . Good vision care benefit. Good dental benefit. Decent 401k. People are generally good. Central location away from downtown makes easy commute.

Cons

Limited growth potential for bright young people. Company is too slow to changes in industry. Most company products are not profitable. At risk for going out of business. Stagnant leadership. Poor healthcare benefits. Only High deductible plans offered, no comprehensive coverage.

Pros

Location is great. People are amazing! We have a leadership dedicated to growing the company and invest time and opportunities with the staff. There are opportunities for employees to be here long-term (and it's OK if short-term is your path).

Cons

Benefits are OK (I actually changed mine this year because spouse's workplace's were better). Compensation is OK.
