Pros

This company cares for its people. It's like a family. You will always be close with those you were hired with and your first teammates. Management (from the team level to senior management) want you to succeed and as agents, we're given LOTS of tools to make that happen- extensive training, links full of information on our company dashboard, proactive coachings, managers with an open-door policy, metrics to help you see your progress (people see these metrics as a threat- I see them as a tool to alert me to area I need to improve to keep my business growing). Why would a company set you up to fail? If you fail, they fail. Some reviewers are upset about "commission only" and "no paid vacation time"- did you not already know about that when you interviewed and accepted the job? They were upfront and honest with me through my interview process. I find it hard to believe that they were different with you through yours. Those reviewers upset about the "work/life balance,"- Vacations To Go does a fantastic job of offering fun, family-friendly functions throughout the year and when you win a trip or have the opportunity to go on one for free, you almost always get to take someone with you as a guest, but at the end of the day, it's up to me to maintain that balance in my life. I have to work 40 hours a week (that's not out of the ordinary). In a 9-hour work day, it's up to me to take my 1-hour lunch break (that's not out of the ordinary). During my two days off, its up to me if I want to check my work email or voicemails from home. Take responsibility for your own path. This job is what you make it. Your earning potential is what you make it. That's what is so great! You don't cold call and you don't have an earning cap! You also have the choice to work your 40 hours and that's it. The key is using your time wisely and efficiently when you are in the office. If you walk around the building, you will see agents on their cell phones or standing at other agents' desks talking. If I don't spend my 40 hours servicing and selling to my clients, then I should expect myself to make it up somewhere else in my week. Again, the balance (and how I use my time) is up to me, not Vacations To Go. VTG only hires from within so there are lots of opportunities here. If you want to move into management, you can be a Team Manager or a Customer Care Specialist. If you want to broaden your sales base, you can train in special needs sales, group sales, singles cruises sales (which could lead to hosting), and all kinds of stuff. Again, it's up to you to create your path and success here- the possibilities are many. We seem to hire often and it's because we still can't keep up with the call volume. Each year, agents (and VTG) are breaking previous years' sales records. The company seems to only be growing and the phones keep ringing.

Cons

The schedule can be a little difficult at first, but they are working toward a system where agents will only have to work one weekend day instead of both weekend days (and even this is temporary until you get enough tenure to move to a better schedule). While it does stink to have to work weekends or late shifts, I miss all the Houston rush hour traffic and I get a day off during the week to do doctor's appointments, dentist appointments, haircuts, vet appointments, run errands, etc.

Pros

You have flexibility in what you wear to work and good potential for earnings at certain times of the year.

Cons

More turn over than any other job I have ever worked in sales before. They literally run people through like cattle going to the auction.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re disappointed to hear that you felt like you were rushed through the hiring and training process. I can assure you that many hours are invested in the almost three months of training that our newest agents receive and our turnover is much less than the standard industry. We have over 300 employees that have been with Vacations To Go for over 5 years and more than 100 with 10 years or more. The large amount of hiring is the result of the growth we’ve been going through as a company. Last year was our most successful year as a company and we still have more calls coming in than we can handle, which is why we continue to hire positive, motivated individuals that like the idea of having an unlimited earning potential. We’re sorry your time here didn’t work out, but we wish you the best in your future endeavors!

Pros

A lot of learning and training modules to improve sales skills, and to equip employees with sales tools to close deals in a more effective manner. Decent perks when it comes to vacation/cruise discounts. Great friendly coworkers throughout, most everyone is very eager to help and teach others.

Cons

After "training" period, you go into 100% commission, lack of stability and very difficult to make ends meet especially when starting out. Completely over the phone sales and not many days off (like most holidays), paychecks are subject to many variables and weather/cancellations can have a drastic effect on your monthly pay.
