Pros

Culture here is great, fun team and laid back. Fun team outings. If you’re looking for a great place to have fun this is it but you won’t make a ton of money here.

Cons

Commission structure isn’t very good. There are better structures at other firms. Not a lot of people know who Vaco is here in Denver so it’s hard to get business here. Basically a start up here in Denver still. No book of clients given once you start like other firms. No 401k match until your 2nd year and it’s not that great. Really hard to make decent money here. Not a lot of upward mobility.

Pros

Absolutely no pro’s. They will tell you that your are walking into a goldmine (book of business) even though it’s business that hasn’t been touched in 8 years. Anyone who’s been in the industry would know that 8 years is a long time. Prior relationships leave, companies restructure and change how they work with agencies, you need to get a new agreement in place. This does not happen over night it could take 3 months, 6 months, up to a year to get into an account depending on the size.

Cons

No training!!! They expect you to sell Vaco as soon as you get there without really knowing how to sell every service Vaco has to offer with no training. The employees are fake they all talk about each other. The managing partner over Tampa openly talks about employees poorly in a business standpoint and in a personal gross inappropriate way. They will promise you the world and sell you on how great Vaco is but that’s not true. Employees will sell you out in a split second to make themselves look good. Everyone thinks you are trying to screw them over even though your suppose to “cross-sell” multiple services. I wouldn’t trust the professional services recruiter with anything. Been there for 3 years and still in the same role and is content. She talks about everyone and oh is really good at twisting your words to management.

Pros

The people, culture, and opportunity for professional and personal growth. Vaco San Diego is not hooked on numbers - they look at them to understand where we're doing well and where we can approve, but that's it. So if you don't hit your number one week, that's okay.

Cons

San Diego is a smaller market and sometimes the job orders run low.
