Pros

you learn how micromanagement works

Cons

I was recruited while I was skeptic due to the negative reviews written on glass door. After 7 months, I can confirm that all the negative reviews were correct. I regret the time I waisted working there. Constant control and micromanagement are the core of management at Vaco. Run! and do not stay there unless you are in need and want to do brainless job. I was pointed at in a meeting and called out by name specifically in front of 14 other employees and told that I should do a task as an (unknown) employee did it before, while I was never trained and aware of it. Meetings have no constructive outcome and are nothing more than cheap talks. If you want to work there just butter up leadership and do not worry about good work and quality because it has no value and you may get harassed by leadership anyway. Do an online course, look for other jobs and think well before you decide to work at Vaco. It has been a while that I work for another company and I can see and feel the difference. Vaco’s working environment is very toxic.

Pros

Great coworkers Fun biannual meetings in Vegas They usually do what’s right for the candidate and client

Cons

Terrible PTO/Holiday plan Begged for a 401K match for years and then they implemented one and it’s conditional on company performance The flexibility they preach is not given across the board to every employee Management doesn’t manage (especially when associates really screw up and do things that would warrant getting fired at any other office) Hire solely for culture fit and not talent Executive team is mostly/all white men, no emphasis on D&I .

Pros

Google has perks, such as free meals and gym; but Vaco has NONE

Cons

Russian managers are horrible at doing their job as they faked their way into those positions. They expect everything to unfold and happen without applying their management skills. Employees are treated as a number and they won't care a bit about you. The pay is horribly low, but if you negotiate; the most you could negotiate is 2-3 dollars extra to your pay.
