Pros

- There are many opportunities for growth within the organization. The credit union always makes an effort to promote from within the organization when possible. Many of the back office and leadership come from being tellers in the branches. - Our compensation and benefits are above the average of other organizations. Team Members receive an annual increase based on performance and 5% promotional increases upon completing promotional career paths. Team Members are in control of completing these paths or not, so nothing is holding them back from getting a promotional increase. - We have so many amazing people who work at Valley Strong CU who contribute to the best culture I have experienced. Our team members created our core values, and the values they selected truly reflect the values of everyone who works here. - Valley Strong has multiple DEI groups and actively celebrates diversity of thought in the workplace. Diversity isn't just a buzzword around the organization; Team Members actively embrace it and its importance.

Cons

- Change happens frequently at Valley Strong CU, which has allowed us to become an even stronger organization for our members. While I have a change-driven mindset, it can be difficult for Team Members to digest how often changes are happening.

Pros

Steady growth plan, young CEO, changing archaic business ideas and workplace environment.

Cons

Quick change from locally grown, people-focused company to company by the numbers, where customer stories no longer matter. Culture shock when senior positions are now being filled by banking senior execs that have left their corner of the finance world. Little upward movement for normal employees. Minimal frontline staffing.
