Pros

They've never laid anyone off Solid 401k contribution The company does care about its investors

Cons

Pay is terrible They make "benefit" changes to give the impression that compensation is better Promotions and merit increases don't depend on the work you do but who you know and how good of friends you are with the management team The longer you work there, the less they care about you

Pros

Great pto, great 401k...that's about it at this point. I used to think it was a wonderful work culture but not anymore. As a 9 year veteran, things have changed tremendously.

Cons

Where to start? They take away your bonus eligibility, and blame it on the DOL. Except to make more then the government mandated minimum for a salary position. You have to work yourself to death to tread water in your performance reviews. Expect mountains to be made from molehills. If you make any mistakes you will be sure to hear about a low performance trend. Expect any positive work to be tempered and downplayed. Raises suck, bonuses gone, expectation from management unreasonable, corporate favoritism etc etc. I hate working here and I want a new job!

Pros

Great company for passive investors and the occasional trader. Low costs, conservative culture.

Cons

the better the company does, the less they are willing to spend on facilities and upkeep. If they do, it's not well thought out. Very P.C. but does vary depending on where you work. Company is turning into a giant bureaucracy or mini-government. Too many people required to implement meaningful changes. Also, atmosphere feels like being back in school at times. Not just high school either.
