Pros

The only pro was when Mr. Bogle was CEO.

Cons

Bogles family like atmosphere has been systematically replaced by a fascist like management structure that would make Hitler proud. Company has steadily progressed down-hill. Especially it’s IT department. Current IT environment is led by inept, egotistical, professional thieves who promote themselves before the good of the company. Morale is at an all-time low and getting worse as time goes by. Every review cycle management selects a 10 % quota for bad reviews with no merit or raises , whether deserved or not. This has been largely substantiated by crew members and former managers . In addition, you become a target after a certain age and will take the brunt of cost savings by low bonuses and raises with trumped up degrading performance evaluations. Management’s perception of being, “Best Place’s to Work”, is delusional. But read this for what it is and look around some more. Read on, check other reviews.

Pros

Great 401(k). Will pay for financial licenses. Time off is pretty adequate also. However, being on the phones you will need all those days off to keep your sanity. The managers I have had have been pretty good. Overall good people.

Cons

No room for advancement outside of Malvern. Company culture is changing rapidly. Tenured employees are forced out. Stuck on the phones all day with no opportunity to contribute to other initiatives of the department or company. Cost cutting is getting ridiculous and at the expense of employees.

Pros

Good benefits. Flexibility. Onsite gym you must pay for at reason price. Great for those fresh out of college as you can get have them pick up cost of MBA or CFP

Cons

Micro managed. Your team leader has a laptop just to watch how long you are doing anything. Take too long and someone will be by to see why you haven't made a call out or why you haven't taken a call. If you actually want to provide good service you will be doing it on your own time. Vanguard made lots of employees hourly recently saying you are eligible for overtime now. However, you need permission to work overtime and if you are asking for o t they accuse you of not being efficient. So put in time unpaid or run the chance of a bad review. Always being sued by an employee. Pay is low. Moral is low. Clients are feeling the changes and client complaints are rising. Selling a managed service that is nothing more than what can be done with an auto rebalance feature.
