Pros

Compensation can be competitive in non-tier 1 cities.

Cons

Vanta is a churn-and-burn environment with consistently high turnover. Annual raises don’t come close to keeping up with inflation, and promotions are effectively impossible with unclear expectations around what it actually takes to advance. There are no upward career path for employees. There’s a strong culture of blame. When things go well, the manager who micromanaged your project will take credit, but when things go wrong, it quickly becomes only your responsibility. At the same time, roles and ownership are often unclear, which makes accountability feel extremely inconsistent and frustrating. For a company at this stage, that lack of clarity is surprising. Leadership feels disconnected from the day-to-day realities of the work while still heavily micromanaging. It makes it difficult to feel trusted. A large number of employees are placed on PIPs, which creates an underlying sense of stress and instability combined with low morale across teams. Work-life balance is a major issue. Late nights and weekend work are the norm, not the exception. It used to be a great place to work, but the culture has shifted quickly in a negative direction, and the trajectory does not feel like it’s improving.

Pros

The account management team has an incredible collaborative culture. AMs genuinely care, support each other, and stay positive even through constant change.

Cons

- PIPs are common and feel embedded in the culture rather than reserved for true underperformance. This creates a constant sense of pressure and job insecurity. - There is very little psychological safety. Asking for help, raising concerns, or challenging decisions can quickly label you as a problem instead of someone trying to improve outcomes. - Leadership sets high expectations but is largely unavailable when it comes to hands-on support, coaching, or removing blockers. You’re expected to figure things out without meaningful guidance. - Speed is prioritized over thoughtful execution. Decisions are made quickly, often without considering second-order effects, which leads to frequent changes, reversals, and inefficiencies. - A lack of consistent processes and structure makes it difficult to build anything repeatable or sustainable. Success often feels situational rather than scalable. - Targets continue to increase, but the underlying systems, territory design, and support do not evolve at the same pace, making goals feel disconnected from reality. - Turnover and shifting responsibilities create instability, making it hard to build long-term momentum or confidence in your role. - When outcomes fall short, the focus tends to be on individual performance rather than examining broader organizational factors that may be contributing.
