HR Nightmare!

Pros

Daily lunch. Excellent pay (for my former position). CEO is an excellent person!

Cons

My manager was inexperienced and made a lot of bad decisions. HR seems inexperienced and seemed to make irrational decisions that led to bigger issues. Management also likes to sweep issues under the rug, in hopes to keep bigger issues from the CEO.

Pros

- Company truly lives by its corporate values: customer success, employee success, speed - Ability to primarily work from home and commute to one of the local offices as needed - Competitive pay, great benefits - Amazing colleagues - the smartest, most driven people I have ever worked with - Veeva only hires top talent - Modern cloud software company - products are highly desired by customers - Company is driven and committed to be best-in-class for every application it delivers and follows through on that goal - I truly love what I do and feel a sense of pride for my work

Cons

You are always "on the clock". There is an unspoken expectation that you will reply to emails at all hours of the day and all days of the week. Working on the east coast means early morning meetings with Europe/Asia, meetings starting at your lunch hour into the evening with California (where HQ is located), and then sometimes more meetings at night with Asia. It's very difficult to stand out as an employee or team as almost everyone is an "A player" and almost all teams are firing on all cylinders. For example, launching a new product, generating a substantial pipeline, beating long-standing competitors in the market, and closing a significant amount of business in a <12 month period is an expectation, not an outstanding accomplishment. While there is a decent amount of promotion from within the organization, certain roles have a somewhat unclear long-term career path.

Great people, location, benefits, and products

Leadership tends to micro-manage everything from new hires to what we eat for lunch
