Pros

The people at Venterra are the best that I've ever worked with. Leadership's combination of work ethic, respectfulness, intellect, and communication skills make doing one's job a lot easier than it would be otherwise. The technological resources are solid. Venterra has been tech-oriented for decades and the quality of the remote work (i.e. seamless communication & meetings, responsive & knowledgeable IT support, etc.) is high. Finally, the opportunity here is real. If you come here and work hard, add value, and execute on established processes, you will be rewarded for your efforts both financially and otherwise (which can be surprisingly hard to find in the real estate industry). There is always an opportunity to learn something new.

Cons

There is a lack of daily in-person interaction with coworkers, at least in my position. I work remote 100% of the time and am only in the office once every few months, which might be difficult for someone who craves that daily interaction with internal colleagues. However, this is offset by in-person interactions with people from outside the company, which occur at least weekly, if not daily. This might be seen as a "pro" rather than a "con" for some. Also, it should be noted that this will not be consistent across the company and that this "con" applies to a relatively small percentage of people working at Venterra. If I had to come up with a con for the company as a whole, I wouldn't be able to.

It’s our goal to create an amazing experience for our team members at all levels of the organization, so it’s great knowing your time with us has been as positive as it has and that you’ve seen our people, technology, and opportunities for development, meeting that standard. As an organization filled with “people-people”, we absolutely relate to your comments about enjoying more in-person interactions. While video meet-ups are a great option, they’re certainly no substitute for the type of engagement and camaraderie that happens in face-to-face activities. As we continue to navigate the challenges of COVID we’re looking forward to bringing back more of the traditional meet-ups that we’ve enjoyed in the past. In the meantime, I’d encourage you to find opportunities for virtual get-togethers with folks inside and outside your department. Our continued growth into new regions and operations means we have many new faces on the team, and quick, informal video chats, have definitely helped improve personal connections across the portfolio. Working for Venterra Realty has provided me an chance to get into an industry I have dreamed of working in. They have impowered me to make a difference small and big with our residents, as a team member and more! With Venterra, you can feel the strength behind the culture and values that are instilled not only from Day 1 but throughout years of experience. Venterra strives to promote from within and I can attest to that. When the position for the Regional Better Living Manager opened, Venterra made it a standard to reach out to all staff in the company about the opening. Having only been with the company for a year and a half, I felt confident and equipped with the knowledge to apply for this role. Venterra did an outstanding job training me as a Better Living Consultant and once again when I needed to train for my new role within the company. They also offer a platform allowing all employees a place to shares thoughts and ideas on how to better resident and staff experiences which gives everyone an opportunity at anytime to voice themselves. This platform has proven to be a great morale boost and another way to support team members across the company.

Cons

I do not have any downsides to share about Venterra as my experience has been over the top amazing.
