      Excellent company, with the exception of local management

      Pros

      I have worked at similar companies, but Veolia's training materials are exceptionally good. Also, most of the trucks are automatic, which makes them soooooo much easier to drive. The compensation and benefits are great, especially the $65 per diem. Environmental Specialists and Drivers get a good amount of overtime. Finally, the company maintains exceptionally strong quality control and logistics standards.

      Cons

      Supervisors will complain to upper management for minor (and sometimes non-existent) performance and safety issues with new employees. I got terminated without any warning because of this. They want to see employees busy round the clock in the office. The company's safety standards are overly strict and tedious. The Environmental Specialist position is much more labor-intensive than similar positions at other companies. Also, getting a Class B Commercial Driver's License can be incredibly difficult, especially for employees who don't go to trucking school. And finally, most employees and even management are vulgar, some shockingly so.

      - Good place to gain experience after college - Coworkers were very knowledgeable and helpful

      Cons

      - Unreasonable workload compared to same position at other companies - Site management is incompetent, and does not care for their employees - Too much gossip - Require to work some weekends - Hourly rate could be better
