Pros

Verily has enormous ambitions to shape the world of healthcare, and the connections and backing to make those ambitions achievable. The company is full of brilliant people across multiple disciplines. The recent additions to the executive team are top-notch folks who are clearly equipped to help a multi-billion-dollar company successful.

Cons

The company's ambitions for growth can sometimes outstrip the reasonable expectation of what can be delivered. We sometimes stumble in executing well across the numerous functions required to build successful healthcare products.

Pros

Working for a mission that really matters. Taking a people-first approach in both our product development and internal culture. Flexibility in roles, work life balance, and execution. Fun work with lots of challenging problems to solve--great room for career growth. Strengthening Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. Highly competitive pay & benefits.

Cons

Still often focused on point solutions rather than long term execution which does create some rework and work sprints. Overall work life balance is great but work still needs to be done in smoothing out the short spikes or OT.

Pros

I get to do what I love (data science, signal processing, machine learning, software development) on projects that matter (e.g. how biosignals relate to disease state). We have collected world-class datasets for the projects I work on, which makes doing data science worthwhile and fun. My colleagues are amazing - smart, motivated, kind, mission-driven.

Cons

Historically a lot of pivoting, which caused churn and attrition. Culture seems to be team and manager-dependent and happiness varies widely across the company.
