Highly political workplace; even during interviewing candidates: non-white candidates (non-native speakers) have much less chances to receive employment offer as a full-time employee, and they are mostly being hired on contract basis. The other biasedness is about where you received your degree from, i.e. if you are Stanford or UC Berkeley alumni, you are on track to get hired and promoted to higher levels, otherwise you will most likely be overlooked.
