Pros

Good people, interesting work, not boring. Pay was decent.

Cons

My first sit down review with my boss came after I had been there for over a year. I wanted those kind of talks to be sooner so I could voice my long term plans. But when that did happen, I felt good about it. Then we all got laid off because of the coronavirus. I'd go back though. It was good.

One of the Worst Companies I ever worked for

Pros

There are some really great people who work there. They do a lot of philanthropy. They do give out free food a good bunch.

Cons

They have absolutely no long term planning strategy. They only focus on operating effectively which is just buying up companies but do not actually strategically bring those companies on well and do not actually care about the employees coming in. They give out VP titles like tic tacs and still have too many high level people making decisions that should be trickled down. Everyone who is in a high level position has serious control issues and they all fight each other. The power dynamic between the higher level positions is toxic. The human resources department is robotic, are not emotionally intelligent and sometimes I wondered if they actually liked people. Instead of being transparent, the company likes to either beat around the bush, sugar coat or full out lie instead of just being honest about what is going on. The only employee engagement they basically do is two week summer camp situation or a holiday party. Their compensation package sucks. They do not have a long term compensation planning situation and will pay someone who lives in NYC the same wage of someone who lives in Ohio. Those who started the company have not actually ever worked in court reporting before. Therefore, do not really understand how it is done. Lastly, and more importantly, they are not diverse, especially racially.
