      at one point we had good people in key spots. over the years those were pushed out and replaced by others without industry knowledge

      Cons

      Veritiv does not value its employees. the C-suite execs are running one business - finances., and ruining another business - distribution

      Cons

      Revolving door of management, ever-changing policies, company makes incredibly stupid business decisions. Loves to remind employees how expendable they are.

      C-Level Management's only concern is stock prices

      Pros

      Many of Veritiv's employees are wonderful people, and the legacy Xpedx team especially is full of long-timers with industry expertise who are exceptional mentors for a new generation of packaging leaders. The compensation and benefits are good. Veritiv has the supplier relationships, talent and national reach to be an industry leader.

      Cons

      Although the foundation is in place, Veritiv completely misses the mark on execution. Systems and processes are so poorly designed that even simple transactions become a bureaucratic Rube Goldberg machine which makes it impossible to get things done. The complexity of operations results in very poor order accuracy and you can be nearly guaranteed that every single transaction will contain an error that is nightmarish to correct: causing significant order delays & resulting in stockouts that frequently shut down client's production. During its integration, the company invested in highly outdated operational software and utilizes so many third party programs that efficiency and accuracy are a joke. C-Level management continues to roll out initiatives that are purely for the benefit of Wall Street shareholders and act as if they have no awareness or regard for employees, customers or the packaging market at large.

      First, in response to the headline. .. our CEO has stated repeatedly that the focus is not on stock price. The focus is on improving the customer experience with Veritiv, streamlining processes and improving margins. Integration has been a long and detailed effort to address many of the issues that you bring up in your review. This has involved moving to a single operating system and consolidating warehouses and processes. The company is moving into an optimization phase where more of what you seek will become evident.
