      I initially enjoyed working for the company but felt less valued as an employee as the company continued to grow.

      Pros

      Verizon provides a nice benefits package. The company embraces diversity in the work place. The people there are committed to their jobs and the company.

      Cons

      Large corporate feel to the company. You can feel like a number as opposed to an individual. It's all about the bottom line and making the shareholders happy.

      The Benefits are great, the people working in the trenches are great. the product set is robust and very complete.

      Cons

      After the MCI acquisition, the company took on a "bankruptcy mentality" and they have been cutting costs and providing worse service ever since.

      Great place to start a sales career

      Pros

      Pay and benefits are great, especially if youre good at what you do. Its a great place for a young person to rack up lots of sales experience quickly through high volume of transactions, rather than slaving away in telesales.

      Cons

      Personal time isnt personal time when you have to schedule it a month in advance and have it approved. Local advancement opportunities tend to be sparse, meaning theres a good chance youll have to pick up and move far away to get promoted. People who are experts at their jobs tend to get pigeonholed, and in retail its almost unheard of for someone to move into another channel or position without first getting promoted to Assistant Manager, which can be pretty political and not very well suited to the skill set of people who can be very competent in a different position.
