Pros

Verizon Was a great place to work at: Pros: Benefits from day 1 - great health insurance with low deductibles and low premiums biweekly Training: Amazing - four weeks - if you're off site from the company X amount of miles (I forget exactly how many miles from the training facility you have to be) you get put in a hotel and you can expense mileage, $50 food allowance daily, etc. They allow you to have in store days while you're training in one of their headquarters. Pay: They offer you a salary + commission - average salary I've seen is around 24k/yr + commission, but with Verizon Wireless you ARE given overtime pay...and it does add up during busy seasons.

Cons

Hours: You are required to work long hours - the quotas can be higher than I've seen for other wireless carriers - example, 100 upgrades and 50 new lines in one month...might not seem like a lot, but you're competing with many sales reps (8 were in my store) I've read the Verizon is moving to universal sales reps in most stores, whereas they did have customer care representatives. I know that as a customer care rep you make a base salary (no commission), but receive a year end bonus and short-term incentive based on year-over-year growth. If you don't like waking up early on Friday's, be prepared for the 7AM "jam sessions" - you might be scheduled to work at 12, but you have to be there from 7am-9am, and if you commute, it's not fun if you live in a snowy state. But, you can expense mileage for the day. Basically, you're expensing what it would cost you to drive to and from Verizon Wireless from your home (50 miles X a certain percentage, I remember like .26 a mile)...not much - but they typically try to schedule those that have the commutes and will expense mileage in the mornings on Fridays
