Pros

Verkada gives you the title “Mid-Market AE” but hands you a book of 3,000+ SMB accounts—less than 3% are over $50M in revenue, and all under 500 employees. It’s not Mid-Market, it’s high-volume SMB grinding. You’ll be dialing 100+ times a day to uninterested prospects who either can’t afford the product or have zero need for it. Meanwhile, quotas are set like you’re closing Fortune 500 deals with buying committees and six-figure budgets. In reality, you’re clawing for $3K camera orders from local dental offices and strip malls. It’s a mismatch leadership knows about—but they just churn and burn reps until someone survives. Only about 30% of AEs hit quota, and even fewer hit it consistently. No true enablement, no long-term territory planning, and no realistic growth path. It’s burnout with a commission plan. Thinking of joining? Know the game: this is a call center job with an inflated title, unattainable goals, and leadership that gaslights you about “opportunity.” And CRO Eric Salava? He plays the role of a Fortune 500 exec, but it’s all show—just like the Rolex he bought in Cabo. Flashy on the surface, but up close… it’s ticking. 🕰️💼

Pros

None. Maybe I’ll update the review after.

Cons

Worst company I have ever worked for they will bury you and pretend that it’s normal to work from 7 to 50pm no lunch. They’re currently fighting a lawsuit for negligence in regards to overworking people without unpaid lunch hours. I promise you this is the best advice I can ever give you ..multiple companies in Seattle will laugh at you if you’ve came from Verkada, you’ll be known as a person that’s been overworked underpaid and willfully talented. Verkada employment practices are so bad that has affected its client base. If you get a territory your clients will laugh at you and let you know that it’s a revolving door.

The Worst Place I Could Imagine Working

Pros

Incredible office with delicious food and tons of great perks.

Cons

Genuinely had a terrible two years here. We worked 5 days a week in-office with hardly any flexibility. The culture is male-dominated and chaotic-- ever-changing expectations due to lack of alignment among senior management. The hours of intense and I felt a ton of pressure to work without taking PTO, despite their "unlimited" PTO policy. Sexism is commonplace and I watched bad behavior get rewarded with no consequences. Would not recommend working here to my worst enemy.
