Pros

I could go on and on about the pros of working for Vermeer Southeast! To begin, there are the obvious benefits like health, dental, vision, they also suggest Aflac benefits like cancer and short term disability. Vermeer, at no cost, provides you with life insurance. Along with these benefits, Vermeer also provides you with a week paid vacation after 6 months of employment. After the first year through the fourth year, you receive 2 weeks paid vacation. After five years your receive three weeks paid vacation. At the end of each year if you do not use your vacation time they offer you the dollar equivalent of your earned vacation time.Every pay period (every other week) you receive 1.5 hours of paid sick time, which amounts to 5 paid sick days a year. Vermeer Southeast takes pride in taking care of their employees and fostering a sense of team and community. At the end of each month, if the monthly sales quota is met, everyone receives a 100$ bonus on their paycheck. There is also monthly luncheons which provides you with one hour of overtime pay. All of the employees are chatty and friendly but serious about their work and other's work. It is very organized, structured, and streamlined. The work flows smoothly and there are rarely issues. If an employee is out there is always at least 2 or 3 people trained to be backup.

Cons

The ONE AND ONLY con about working here is there is little room for growth in this company. Due to being such a wonderful company to work for there are many employees here with many years of seniority (15-20 years). Although, this does not mean you can not take on more responsibilities.

Pros

The work is a bit repetitive on the line. That being said, if you are someone that is willing to do extra things you can learn other jobs by helping others if you finish your work a little early. Managers are mostly easy to work for. Morning and lunch stretching to prevent injuries and the jobs are safe. Employees are usually pleasant to work with and helpful. Vermeer makes several types of machines so there are 7 plants to work at. Employees can apply or bid on any job they post internally. They offer an onsite Pharmacy, Medical Services Building ( for Vermeer employees and their families), & a daycare. Vermeer is a very good place to work I think.

Cons

The hours are usually 9 or 10 hour days throughout the busy parts of the year. Assembly line issues can take a long time to be resolved by engineering. Being heavily invested in LEAN manufacturing they change our work processes too often.
