Pros
Great life saving mission being done by hard working good front line people. Benefits are average for a non-profit company. Donors and volunteers are amazing in their dedication to the mission.
Cons
Pay low for entry level positions. More organization, less recreating the wheel, and major process improvement needed in the department I worked in. Very top heavy organization while front line staff takes on the majority of the customer facing work and is grossly understaffed. Your slogan of 'doing more good than you know' does not apply to employees. No incentives nor a positive work environment exists at corporate. Work/life balance is unrealistic if you are an exempt employee in this organization, unless you are in a leadership role.
