Pros

Unique Technical Challenge: Rare combination of Optimization and Machine Learning. You aren't just predicting; you build algorithms that make real-time decisions. From Notebook to Prod: Great place for researchers who want to ship high-quality code to production at a massive scale. Culture & People: Extremely smart team, but completely "no ego." The vibe is collaborative, and management is supportive. Real Impact: The product does good for the world (environment, accessibility), which makes the work feel meaningful. Great WLB: Excellent work-life balance despite the high technical bar.

Cons

Legacy Code: Like most established companies with a successful product, there is a large amount of legacy code. Navigating and maintaining it can sometimes be challenging.

Pros

If you like working on algorithms that actually run in production and affect real users, Via is a great place to do that. The problems are interesting and messy in a good way, forecasting, decision-making, all with real-world constraints and imperfect data. Great people, technically strong with vast backgrounds and good vibes. We work from idea to deployment and if you have a good idea and can prove it works, it usually gets taken seriously. Very strong work-life balance and understanding of young parents' constraints.

Cons

It is not a research-heavy or academic environment. Work is often driven by short- to medium-term business needs, which can limit deeper exploration. There is also regular context switching between research, implementation, and operational follow-ups.

Pros

High-Level Work: You get to work on serious optimization and graph theory challenges (TSP, VRP variants) that are rarely seen in production at this scale. Talented Peers: The research and engineering teams are top-tier. You are surrounded by very smart people who are willing to collaborate and share knowledge. Mission-Driven: It feels good to work on technology that helps people move more efficiently, rather than just optimizing ad clicks.

Cons

Growing Pains: The company is expanding, so processes (like CI/CD or internal tools) are sometimes playing catch-up with our scale.
